WordCamp is a community event & anyone can organize it after taking approval from the official WordCamp team. The whole purpose of the WordCamp is to bring the WordPress users, Bloggers & individuals who wish to get into WordPress on the same platform. It’s usually 1 to 2 days event where you will meet many like minded people & enjoy the talk from some of the experienced people of the industry. It’s a community organized event for the WordPress community.
I’m fortunate enough to attend the first WordCamp of New Delhi in 2009 & that actually shaped my career. It was the beginning of my blogging career & I get to meet many experienced bloggers & also the Matt Mullenweg (Founder of WordPress).
That first event showed me the power of blogging & made me realize I’m part of something bigger than myself. One very profound feeling was that I’m not alone in the field of blogging & there is a community of like minded people out there. I’m sharing all this so that you would know how such an event could be a life changing for anyone. It wouldn’t be unwise to say, such events have the power to help you discover your life purpose.
My 2nd WordCamp experience was in Baroda, Gujarat in 2014 where I was also a speaker. It was a 2-day event where I get to meet many WordPress contributors, service provider & bloggers. I spoke about How to optimize WordPress for SEO & you can watch my session here. In nutshell, WordCamp is an event where you will learn a lot of great stuff & get to meet like minded people. It’s a platform to learn, have fun & engage with the community.

Alright, so that was my brief experience of WordCamp & now it’s your turn to experience one of the most popular events for Bloggers & WordPress users. Even if you don’t use WordPress, you can attend this event as there is always something to learn. Just for the record, more than 28% of all websites in the world is powered by WordPress. So you can imagine, by attending WordCamp Delhi, you would be becoming a part of a global community.
